6:1

Προσέχετε δὲ τὴν δικαιοσύνην ὑμῶν μὴ ποιεῖν ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἀνθρώπων πρὸς τὸ θεαθῆναι αὐτοῖς εἰ μή¦γε μισθὸν οὐκ ἔχετε παρὰ τῷ Πατρὶ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς

Prosechete de tēn dikaiosynēn hymōn mē poiein emprosthen tōn anthrōpōn pros to theathēnai autois ei mēge misthon ouk echete para tō Patri en tois ouranois

6:2

Ὅταν οὖν ποιῇς ἐλεημοσύνην μὴ σαλπίσῃς ἔμπροσθέν σου ὥσπερ οἱ ὑποκριταὶ ποιοῦσιν ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ ῥύμαις ὅπως δοξασθῶσιν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν

Hotan oun poiēs eleēmosynēn mē salpisēs emprosthen sou hōsper hoi hypokritai poiousin en tais synagōgais kai rhymais hopōs doxasthōsin hypo tōn anthrōpōn amēn legō hymin apechousin ton misthon autōn

When therefore you do acts of charity not do sound a trumpet before of You as - hypocrites do they in - synagogues And streets how they may have glory by of the of men Truly I say to you they have the reward of them

6:3

σοῦ δὲ ποιοῦντος ἐλεημοσύνην μὴ γνώτω ἡ ἀριστερά σου τί ποιεῖ δεξιά

sou de poiountos eleēmosynēn mē gnōtō hē aristera sou ti poiei dexia

you however doing acts of charity not let know the left [hand] of You Which it produces right

6:4

ὅπως ᾖ σου ἡ ἐλεημοσύνη ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ καὶ ὁ Πατήρ βλέπων ἀποδώσει σοι

hopōs ē sou hē eleēmosynē en tō kryptō kai ho Patēr blepōn apodōsei soi

6:5

Καὶ ὅταν προσεύχησθε οὐκ ἔσεσθε ὡς οἱ ὑποκριταί ὅτι φιλοῦσιν ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ γωνίαις τῶν πλατειῶν ἑστῶτες προσεύχεσθαι ὅπως φανῶσιν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν

kai hotan proseuchēsthe ouk esesthe hōs hoi hypokritai hoti philousin en tais synagōgais kai gōniais tōn plateiōn hestōtes proseuchesthai hopōs phanōsin tois anthrōpois amēn legō hymin apechousin ton misthon autōn

6:6

σὺ δὲ ὅταν προσεύχῃ εἴσελθε εἰς τὸ ταμεῖόν σου καὶ κλείσας τὴν θύραν πρόσευξαι τῷ Πατρί ἐν κρυπτῷ ὁ Πατήρ βλέπων ἀποδώσει σοι

sy de hotan proseuchē eiselthe eis to tameion sou kai kleisas tēn thyran proseuxai tō Patri en kryptō ho Patēr blepōn apodōsei soi

yourself however when you pray enter for the room of You And having shut the door pray - Father in secret - Father looking upon will reward to You

6:7

Προσευχόμενοι δὲ μὴ βατταλογήσητε ὥσπερ οἱ ἐθνικοί δοκοῦσιν γὰρ ὅτι ἐν τῇ πολυλογίᾳ αὐτῶν εἰσακουσθήσονται

Proseuchomenoi de mē battalogēsēte hōsper hoi ethnikoi dokousin gar hoti en tē polylogia autōn eisakousthēsontai

Praying however not do use vain repetitions as - pagans they think for - in the many words of them they will be heard

6:8

μὴ οὖν ὁμοιωθῆτε αὐτοῖς οἶδεν γὰρ (ὁ θεὸς) ὁ Πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὧν χρείαν ἔχετε πρὸ τοῦ ὑμᾶς αἰτῆσαι αὐτόν

mē oun homoiōthēte autois oiden gar ho theos ho Patēr hymōn hōn chreian echete pro tou hymas aitēsai auton

not therefore be like to them knows for - God - Father you of what things need have you before of the you asking Him

6:9

Οὕτως οὖν προσεύχεσθε ὑμεῖς Πάτερ ἡμῶν ὁ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς Ἁγιασθήτω τὸ ὄνομά σου

Houtōs oun proseuchesthe hymeis Pater hēmōn ho en tois ouranois Hagiasthētō to onoma sou

6:10

Ἐλθέτω* ἡ βασιλεία σου Γενηθήτω τὸ θέλημά Ὡς ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς

elthetō hē basileia sou genēthētō to thelēma hōs en ouranō kai epi gēs

Come the kingdom of You be done the will [It is] like in heaven And at land

6:11

Τὸν ἄρτον ἡμῶν τὸν ἐπιούσιον δὸς ἡμῖν σήμερον

Ton arton hēmōn ton epiousion dos hēmin sēmeron

The bread us the daily give to us now

6:12

Καὶ ἄφες ἡμῖν τὰ ὀφειλήματα ἡμῶν Ὡς καὶ ἡμεῖς ἀφήκαμεν τοῖς ὀφειλέταις

kai aphes hēmin ta opheilēmata hēmōn hōs kai hēmeis aphēkamen tois opheiletais

And leave to us the debts us [It is] like And we have left on the debtors

6:13

Καὶ μὴ εἰσενέγκῃς ἡμᾶς εἰς πειρασμόν Ἀλλὰ ῥῦσαι ἀπὸ τοῦ πονηροῦ ⧼Ὅτι σοῦ ἐστιν ἡ βασιλεία καὶ δύναμις δόξα τοὺς αἰῶνας Ἀμήν⧽

kai mē eisenenkēs hēmas eis peirasmon Alla rhysai apo tou ponērou Hoti sou estin hē basileia kai dynamis doxa tous aiōnas Amēn

And not lead us? for temptation But deliver from of the evil For you is the kingdom And power glory the ages Amen

6:14

Ἐὰν γὰρ ἀφῆτε τοῖς ἀνθρώποις τὰ παραπτώματα αὐτῶν ἀφήσει καὶ ὑμῖν ὁ Πατὴρ ὑμῶν οὐράνιος

Ean gar aphēte tois anthrōpois ta paraptōmata autōn aphēsei kai hymin ho Patēr hymōn ouranios

If for you forgive on the men the trespasses of them will forgive And to you - Father you Heavenly

6:15

ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ἀφῆτε τοῖς ἀνθρώποις (τὰ παραπτώματα αὐτῶν) οὐδὲ ὁ Πατὴρ ὑμῶν ἀφήσει τὰ

ean de mē aphēte tois anthrōpois ta paraptōmata autōn oude ho Patēr hymōn aphēsei ta

if however not you forgive on the men the trespasses of them nor - Father you will forgive the

6:16

Ὅταν δὲ νηστεύητε μὴ γίνεσθε ὡς οἱ ὑποκριταὶ σκυθρωποί ἀφανίζουσιν γὰρ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν ὅπως φανῶσιν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις νηστεύοντες ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν

Hotan de nēsteuēte mē ginesthe hōs hoi hypokritai skythrōpoi aphanizousin gar ta prosōpa autōn hopōs phanōsin tois anthrōpois nēsteuontes amēn legō hymin apechousin ton misthon

When however you fast not be as - hypocrites gloomy they disfigure for the appearance of them how they might be seen on the men fasting Truly I say to you they have the reward

6:17

σὺ δὲ νηστεύων ἄλειψαί σου τὴν κεφαλὴν καὶ τὸ πρόσωπόν νίψαι

sy de nēsteuōn aleipsai sou tēn kephalēn kai to prosōpon nipsai

yourself however fasting anoint of You the head And the face wash

6:18

ὅπως μὴ φανῇς τοῖς ἀνθρώποις νηστεύων ἀλλὰ τῷ Πατρί σου ἐν κρυφαίῳ καὶ ὁ Πατήρ βλέπων ἀποδώσει σοι

hopōs mē phanēs tois anthrōpois nēsteuōn alla tō Patri sou en kryphaiō kai ho Patēr blepōn apodōsei soi

how not you might appear on the men fasting But - Father of You in secret And - Father looking upon will reward to You

6:19

Μὴ θησαυρίζετε ὑμῖν θησαυροὺς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὅπου σὴς καὶ βρῶσις ἀφανίζει κλέπται διορύσσουσιν κλέπτουσιν

Mē thēsaurizete hymin thēsaurous epi tēs gēs hopou sēs kai brōsis aphanizei kleptai dioryssousin kleptousin

Not store up to you treasures at - land where moth And rust destroy thieves break in steal

6:20

θησαυρίζετε δὲ ὑμῖν θησαυροὺς ἐν οὐρανῷ ὅπου οὔτε σὴς βρῶσις ἀφανίζει καὶ κλέπται οὐ διορύσσουσιν οὐδὲ κλέπτουσιν

thēsaurizete de hymin thēsaurous en ouranō hopou oute sēs brōsis aphanizei kai kleptai ou dioryssousin oude kleptousin

store up however to you treasures in heaven where neither moth rust destroy And thieves not break in nor steal

6:21

ὅπου γάρ ἐστιν ὁ θησαυρός σου ἐκεῖ ἔσται καὶ ἡ καρδία

hopou gar estin ho thēsauros sou ekei estai kai hē kardia

where for is - treasure of You there it will be And the heart

6:22

Ὁ λύχνος τοῦ σώματός ἐστιν ὁ ὀφθαλμός ἐὰν οὖν ᾖ σου ἁπλοῦς ὅλον τὸ σῶμά φωτεινὸν ἔσται

ho lychnos tou sōmatos estin ho ophthalmos ean oun ē sou haplous holon to sōma phōteinon estai

- lamp of the body is - eye if therefore he might be of You clear whole the body full of light it will be

6:23

ἐὰν δὲ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου πονηρὸς ᾖ ὅλον τὸ σῶμά σκοτεινὸν ἔσται εἰ οὖν φῶς ἐν σοὶ σκότος ἐστίν πόσον

ean de ho ophthalmos sou ponēros ē holon to sōma skoteinon estai ei oun phōs en soi skotos estin poson

if however - eye of You evil he might be whole the body full of darkness it will be if therefore fire in You darkness He is how great

6:24

Οὐδεὶς δύναται δυσὶ κυρίοις δουλεύειν ἢ γὰρ τὸν ἕνα μισήσει καὶ ἕτερον ἀγαπήσει ἑνὸς ἀνθέξεται τοῦ ἑτέρου καταφρονήσει οὐ δύνασθε Θεῷ μαμωνᾷ

Oudeis dynatai dysi kyriois douleuein ē gar ton hena misēsei kai heteron agapēsei henos anthexetai tou heterou kataphronēsei ou dynasthe Theō mamōna

No one is able two masters to serve or for the one he will hate And other he will love [the] one he will be devoted to of the other he will despise not Are you able to God money

6:25

Διὰ τοῦτο λέγω ὑμῖν μὴ μεριμνᾶτε τῇ ψυχῇ ὑμῶν τί φάγητε ἢ πίητε μηδὲ τῷ σώματι ἐνδύσησθε οὐχὶ ἡ ψυχὴ πλεῖόν ἐστιν τῆς τροφῆς καὶ τὸ σῶμα τοῦ ἐνδύματος;

Dia touto legō hymin mē merimnate tē psychē hymōn ti phagēte ē piēte mēde tō sōmati endysēsthe ouchi hē psychē pleion estin tēs trophēs kai to sōma tou endymatos

Because of this I say to you not be anxious about the life you Which you should eat or you should drink not even - body put on Do not the life more is - food And the body of the clothing?

6:26

ἐμβλέψατε εἰς τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ὅτι οὐ σπείρουσιν οὐδὲ θερίζουσιν συνάγουσιν ἀποθήκας καὶ ὁ Πατὴρ ὑμῶν οὐράνιος τρέφει αὐτά οὐχ ὑμεῖς μᾶλλον διαφέρετε αὐτῶν;

emblepsate eis ta peteina tou ouranou hoti ou speirousin oude therizousin synagousin apothēkas kai ho Patēr hymōn ouranios trephei auta ouch hymeis mallon diapherete autōn

Look for the birds of the air - not they sow nor do they reap do they gather barns— And - Father you Heavenly feeds them not you rather are more valuable than they?

6:27

τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν μεριμνῶν δύναται προσθεῖναι ἐπὶ τὴν ἡλικίαν αὐτοῦ πῆχυν ἕνα;

tis de ex hymōn merimnōn dynatai prostheinai epi tēn hēlikian autou pēchyn hena

who however out of you being anxious is able to add at the lifespan of Him’” hour one?

6:28

Καὶ περὶ ἐνδύματος τί μεριμνᾶτε; καταμάθετε τὰ κρίνα τοῦ ἀγροῦ πῶς αὐξάνουσιν οὐ κοπιῶσιν οὐδὲ νήθουσιν

kai peri endymatos ti merimnate katamathete ta krina tou agrou pōs auxanousin ou kopiōsin oude nēthousin

And around clothing Which are you anxious? Observe the lilies of the the country How they grow: not labor nor do they spin

6:29

λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐδὲ Σολομὼν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ δόξῃ αὐτοῦ περιεβάλετο ὡς ἓν τούτων

legō de hymin hoti oude Solomōn en pasē tē doxē autou periebaleto hōs hen toutōn

I say however to you - nor Solomon in to all the glory of Him’” was adorned as one these

6:30

εἰ δὲ τὸν χόρτον τοῦ ἀγροῦ σήμερον ὄντα καὶ αὔριον εἰς κλίβανον βαλλόμενον ὁ Θεὸς οὕτως ἀμφιέννυσιν οὐ πολλῷ μᾶλλον ὑμᾶς ὀλιγόπιστοι;

ei de ton chorton tou agrou sēmeron onta kai aurion eis klibanon ballomenon ho Theos houtōs amphiennysin ou pollō mallon hymas oligopistoi

if however the a plant of the the country now being [here] And tomorrow for the furnace being thrown - God thus clothes not much rather you O [you] of little faith?

6:31

Μὴ οὖν μεριμνήσητε λέγοντες Τί φάγωμεν; ἤ πίωμεν; περιβαλώμεθα;

Mē oun merimnēsēte legontes Ti phagōmen ē piōmen peribalōmetha

Not therefore be anxious saying What shall we eat? Or shall we drink? shall we wear?

6:32

πάντα γὰρ ταῦτα τὰ ἔθνη ἐπιζητοῦσιν οἶδεν ὁ Πατὴρ ὑμῶν οὐράνιος ὅτι χρῄζετε τούτων ἁπάντων

panta gar tauta ta ethnē epizētousin oiden ho Patēr hymōn ouranios hoti chrēzete toutōn hapantōn

all for these things the nations seek after knows - Father you Heavenly - you have need these all

6:33

ζητεῖτε δὲ πρῶτον τὴν βασιλείαν [τοῦ θεοῦ] καὶ δικαιοσύνην αὐτοῦ ταῦτα πάντα προστεθήσεται ὑμῖν

zēteite de prōton tēn basileian tou theou kai dikaiosynēn autou tauta panta prostethēsetai hymin

you seek however first the kingdom of God And righteousness of Him’” these things all more will be added to you

6:34

Μὴ οὖν μεριμνήσητε εἰς τὴν αὔριον ἡ γὰρ μεριμνήσει ἑαυτῆς ἀρκετὸν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ κακία αὐτῆς

Mē oun merimnēsēte eis tēn aurion hē gar merimnēsei heautēs arketon tē hēmera kakia autēs

Not therefore be anxious for the tomorrow the for will be anxious about itself Sufficient the days trouble her
