Matthew 28

Matthew 27 | Mark 1

28:1

Ὀψὲ δὲ σαββάτων τῇ ἐπιφωσκούσῃ εἰς μίαν ἦλθεν Μαριὰμ ἡ Μαγδαληνὴ καὶ ἄλλη Μαρία θεωρῆσαι τὸν τάφον

Opse de sabbatōn tē epiphōskousē eis mian ēlthen Mariam hē Magdalēnē kai allē Maria theōrēsai ton taphon

After however week the being dawn for one [that] came Mary? the Magdalene And another Mary to see the tomb

28:2

Καὶ ἰδοὺ σεισμὸς ἐγένετο μέγας ἄγγελος γὰρ Κυρίου καταβὰς ἐξ οὐρανοῦ καὶ προσελθὼν ἀπεκύλισεν τὸν λίθον ἐκάθητο ἐπάνω αὐτοῦ

kai idou seismos egeneto megas angelos gar Kyriou katabas ex ouranou kai proselthōn apekylisen ton lithon ekathēto epanō autou

And Behold a storm it came to pass great an angel for of [the] Lord having descended out of air And having come to [her] rolled away the stone was sitting for above of Him’”

28:3

ἦν δὲ ἡ εἰδέα αὐτοῦ ὡς ἀστραπὴ καὶ τὸ ἔνδυμα λευκὸν χιών

ēn de hē eidea autou hōs astrapē kai to endyma leukon chiōn

was however the appearance of Him’” as lightning And the garment white snow

28:4

ἀπὸ δὲ τοῦ φόβου αὐτοῦ ἐσείσθησαν οἱ τηροῦντες καὶ ἐγενήθησαν ὡς νεκροί

apo de tou phobou autou eseisthēsan hoi tērountes kai egenēthēsan hōs nekroi

from however of the fear of Him’” trembled - keeping guard over And had taken place as dead [men]

28:5

Ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ἄγγελος εἶπεν ταῖς γυναιξίν Μὴ φοβεῖσθε ὑμεῖς οἶδα γὰρ ὅτι Ἰησοῦν τὸν ἐσταυρωμένον ζητεῖτε

apokritheis de ho angelos eipen tais gynaixin Mē phobeisthe hymeis oida gar hoti Iēsoun ton estaurōmenon zēteite

Answering however - an angel said - women Not fear you I know for - Jesus the having been crucified you seek

28:6

οὐκ ἔστιν ὧδε ἠγέρθη γὰρ καθὼς εἶπεν δεῦτε ἴδετε τὸν τόπον ὅπου ἔκειτο

ouk estin hōde ēgerthē gar kathōs eipen deute idete ton topon hopou ekeito

not is here he arose for as said come see the a place where He was lying

28:7

καὶ ταχὺ πορευθεῖσαι εἴπατε τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ὅτι Ἠγέρθη ἀπὸ τῶν νεκρῶν ἰδοὺ προάγει ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν ἐκεῖ αὐτὸν ὄψεσθε εἶπον ὑμῖν

kai tachy poreutheisai eipate tois mathētais autou hoti Ēgerthē apo tōn nekrōn idou proagei hymas eis tēn Galilaian ekei auton opsesthe eipon hymin

And readily having gone say on the disciples of Him’” - He is risen from of the [the] dead Behold He goes before you for the Galilee there him you will see said to you

28:8

Καὶ ἀπελθοῦσαι ταχὺ ἀπὸ τοῦ μνημείου μετὰ φόβου καὶ χαρᾶς μεγάλης ἔδραμον ἀπαγγεῖλαι τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ

kai apelthousai tachy apo tou mnēmeiou meta phobou kai charas megalēs edramon apangeilai tois mathētais autou

And having gone out readily from of the tomb with fear And joy great they ran to tell on the disciples of Him’”

28:9

⧼Ὡς δὲ ἐπορεύοντο ἀπαγγεῖλαι τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ⧽ καὶ ἰδοὺ Ἰησοῦς ὑπήντησεν αὐταῖς λέγων Χαίρετε αἱ προσελθοῦσαι ἐκράτησαν αὐτοῦ τοὺς πόδας προσεκύνησαν αὐτῷ

Hōs de eporeuonto apangeilai tois mathētais autou kai idou Iēsous hypēntēsen autais legōn Chairete hai proselthousai ekratēsan autou tous podas prosekynēsan autō

as however they were going to tell on the disciples of him And Behold Jesus met to them saying Greetings the having come to [Him] they kept of Him’” the feet they worshiped to Him

28:10

τότε λέγει αὐταῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς Μὴ φοβεῖσθε ὑπάγετε ἀπαγγείλατε τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς μου ἵνα ἀπέλθωσιν εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν κἀκεῖ με ὄψονται

tote legei autais ho Iēsous Mē phobeisthe hypagete apangeilate tois adelphois mou hina apelthōsin eis tēn Galilaian kakei me opsontai

then He says to them - Jesus Not fear Go relate on the brothers of Me so that they should go for the Galilee and there me will they see

28:11

Πορευομένων δὲ αὐτῶν ἰδού τινες τῆς κουστωδίας ἐλθόντες εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἀπήγγειλαν τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν ἅπαντα τὰ γενόμενα

Poreuomenōn de autōn idou tines tēs koustōdias elthontes eis tēn polin apēngeilan tois archiereusin hapanta ta genomena

[As] were going however of them behold some - guard having come for the city proclaimed [it] on the chief priests everything the having taken place

28:12

καὶ συναχθέντες μετὰ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων συμβούλιόν τε λαβόντες ἀργύρια ἱκανὰ ἔδωκαν τοῖς στρατιώταις

kai synachthentes meta tōn presbyterōn symboulion te labontes argyria hikana edōkan tois stratiōtais

And having been gathered together with of the elders counsel both having taken pieces of silver many they gave on the soldiers

28:13

λέγοντες Εἴπατε ὅτι Οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ νυκτὸς ἐλθόντες ἔκλεψαν αὐτὸν ἡμῶν κοιμωμένων

legontes Eipate hoti hoi mathētai autou nyktos elthontes eklepsan auton hēmōn koimōmenōn

saying Say - - disciples of Him’” night having come stole him us being asleep

28:14

καὶ ἐὰν ἀκουσθῇ τοῦτο ἐπὶ τοῦ ἡγεμόνος ἡμεῖς πείσομεν ‹αὐτὸν› ὑμᾶς ἀμερίμνους ποιήσομεν

kai ean akousthē touto epi tou hēgemonos hēmeis peisomen auton hymas amerimnous poiēsomen

And if is heard this at of the governor we will persuade him you out of trouble will keep

28:15

Οἱ δὲ λαβόντες ‹τὰ› ἀργύρια ἐποίησαν ὡς ἐδιδάχθησαν Καὶ διεφημίσθη ὁ λόγος οὗτος παρὰ Ἰουδαίοις μέχρι τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας

hoi de labontes ta argyria epoiēsan hōs edidachthēsan kai diephēmisthē ho logos houtos para Ioudaiois mechri tēs sēmeron hēmeras

- however having taken the pieces of silver they had done as they were instructed And is spread abroad - word this [man] by Jews until - now days

28:16

Οἱ δὲ ἕνδεκα μαθηταὶ ἐπορεύθησαν εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν τὸ ὄρος οὗ ἐτάξατο αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς

hoi de hendeka mathētai eporeuthēsan eis tēn Galilaian to oros hou etaxato autois ho Iēsous

- however eleven disciples they went away for the Galilee the mountain of whom assigned to them - Jesus

28:17

καὶ ἰδόντες αὐτὸν προσεκύνησαν οἱ δὲ ἐδίστασαν

kai idontes auton prosekynēsan hoi de edistasan

And having seen him they worshiped - however doubted

28:18

Καὶ προσελθὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐλάλησεν αὐτοῖς λέγων Ἐδόθη μοι πᾶσα ἐξουσία ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς

kai proselthōn ho Iēsous elalēsen autois legōn Edothē moi pasa exousia en ouranō kai epi tēs gēs

And having come to [her] - Jesus He spoke to them saying Has been given Me all authority in heaven And at - land

28:19

πορευθέντες οὖν μαθητεύσατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη βαπτίζοντες αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Πατρὸς καὶ Υἱοῦ Ἁγίου Πνεύματος

poreuthentes oun mathēteusate panta ta ethnē baptizontes autous eis to onoma tou Patros kai Huiou Hagiou Pneumatos

Having gone therefore disciple all the nations baptizing they for the [the] name of the Father And Son Holy Spirit

28:20

διδάσκοντες αὐτοὺς τηρεῖν πάντα ὅσα ἐνετειλάμην ὑμῖν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ μεθ’ ὑμῶν εἰμι πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἕως τῆς συντελείας τοῦ αἰῶνος

didaskontes autous tērein panta hosa eneteilamēn hymin kai idou egō meth’ hymōn eimi pasas tas hēmeras heōs tēs synteleias tou aiōnos

teaching they to observe all how much I commanded to you And Behold I with you am [He] all the days until - of the consummation of the of this age
