14:1

Ἐν ἐκείνῳ τῷ καιρῷ ἤκουσεν Ἡρῴδης ὁ τετραάρχης τὴν ἀκοὴν Ἰησοῦ
en ekeinō tō kairō ēkousen Hērōdēs ho tetraarchēs tēn akoēn Iēsou
By that - time heard Herod - tetrarch the news of Jesus

καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς παισὶν αὐτοῦ Οὗτός ἐστιν Ἰωάννης ὁ Βαπτιστής αὐτὸς ἠγέρθη ἀπὸ τῶν νεκρῶν διὰ τοῦτο αἱ δυνάμεις ἐνεργοῦσιν ἐν αὐτῷ
kai eipen tois paisin autou Houtos estin Iōannēs ho Baptistēs autos ēgerthē apo tōn nekrōn dia touto hai dynameis energousin en autō
And said on the [the] servants of Him’” This is John - Baptist He he arose from of the [the] dead on account of this the miracles operate in to Him

Ὁ γὰρ Ἡρῴδης κρατήσας τὸν Ἰωάνην ἔδησεν ‹αὐτὸν› καὶ ἐν φυλακῇ ἀπέθετο διὰ Ἡρῳδιάδα τὴν γυναῖκα Φιλίππου τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ
ho gar Hērōdēs kratēsas ton Iōanēn edēsen auton kai en phylakē apetheto dia Hērōdiada tēn gynaika Philippou tou adelphou autou
- for Herod having taken hold the John bound him And in prison put [him] on account of Herodias the wife of Philip of the brother of Him’”

ἔλεγεν γὰρ ««ὁ Ἰωάννης» ⇔ αὐτῷ Οὐκ ἔξεστίν σοι ἔχειν αὐτήν

καὶ θέλων αὐτὸν ἀποκτεῖναι ἐφοβήθη τὸν ὄχλον ὅτι ὡς προφήτην εἶχον

Γενεσίοις δὲ γενομένοις τοῦ Ἡρῴδου ὠρχήσατο ἡ θυγάτηρ τῆς Ἡρῳδιάδος ἐν τῷ μέσῳ καὶ ἤρεσεν Ἡρῴδῃ
genesiois de genomenois tou Hērōdou ōrchēsato hē thygatēr tēs Hērōdiados en tō mesō kai ēresen Hērōdē

ὅθεν μεθ’ ὅρκου ὡμολόγησεν αὐτῇ δοῦναι ὃ ἐὰν αἰτήσηται

Ἡ δὲ προβιβασθεῖσα ὑπὸ τῆς μητρὸς αὐτῆς Δός μοι φησίν Ὧδε ἐπὶ πίνακι τὴν κεφαλὴν Ἰωάννου τοῦ Βαπτιστοῦ
HĒ de probibastheisa hypo tēs mētros autēs Dos moi phēsin hōde epi pinaki tēn kephalēn Iōannou tou Baptistou

Καὶ λυπηθεὶς ὁ βασιλεὺς διὰ τοὺς ὅρκους καὶ συνανακειμένους ἐκέλευσεν δοθῆναι

Καὶ ἠνέχθη ἡ κεφαλὴ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πίνακι καὶ ἐδόθη τῷ κορασίῳ ἤνεγκεν τῇ μητρὶ αὐτῆς

καὶ προσελθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἦραν τὸ πτῶμα ἔθαψαν αὐτόν ἐλθόντες ἀπήγγειλαν τῷ Ἰησοῦ

Ἀκούσας δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἀνεχώρησεν ἐκεῖθεν ἐν πλοίῳ εἰς ἔρημον τόπον κατ’ ἰδίαν καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ ὄχλοι ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ πεζῇ ἀπὸ τῶν πόλεων
akousas de ho Iēsous anechōrēsen ekeithen en ploiō eis erēmon topon kat’ idian kai akousantes hoi ochloi ēkolouthēsan autō pezē apo tōn poleōn
Having heard however - Jesus withdrew from there in boat for wilderness a place With private And having heard [of it] - crowds they followed to Him on foot from of the cities

Καὶ ἐξελθὼν εἶδεν πολὺν ὄχλον καὶ ἐσπλαγχνίσθη ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς ἐθεράπευσεν τοὺς ἀρρώστους αὐτῶν
kai exelthōn eiden polyn ochlon kai esplanchnisthē ep’ autois etherapeusen tous arrōstous autōn
And having gone out he saw a great crowd And was moved with compassion in to them He healed the sick of them

Ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης προσῆλθον αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ λέγοντες Ἔρημός ἐστιν ὁ τόπος καὶ ἡ ὥρα ἤδη παρῆλθεν ἀπόλυσον 〈〈οὖν〉 τοὺς ὄχλους ἵνα ἀπελθόντες εἰς τὰς κώμας ἀγοράσωσιν ἑαυτοῖς βρώματα
Opsias de genomenēs prosēlthon autō hoi mathētai legontes Erēmos estin ho topos kai hē hōra ēdē parēlthen apolyson oun tous ochlous hina apelthontes eis tas kōmas agorasōsin heautois brōmata
Evening however having come came to Him - disciples saying Desolate is - place And the an hour already is gone by Dismiss therefore the crowds so that having gone for the villages they might buy themselves food

Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν ἀπελθεῖν δότε ὑμεῖς φαγεῖν

Οἱ δὲ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ Οὐκ ἔχομεν ὧδε εἰ μὴ πέντε ἄρτους καὶ δύο ἰχθύας

καὶ κελεύσας τοὺς ὄχλους ἀνακλιθῆναι ἐπὶ τοῦ χόρτου λαβὼν πέντε ἄρτους δύο ἰχθύας ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν εὐλόγησεν κλάσας ἔδωκεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ ὄχλοις
kai keleusas tous ochlous anaklithēnai epi tou chortou labōn pente artous dyo ichthyas anablepsas eis ton ouranon eulogēsen klasas edōken tois mathētais hoi de mathētai ochlois
And having commanded the crowds to sit down at of the grass having taken five loaves two fish having looked up for the heaven He blessed having broken he gave on the disciples - however disciples crowds

Καὶ ἔφαγον πάντες καὶ ἐχορτάσθησαν ἦραν τὸ περισσεῦον τῶν κλασμάτων δώδεκα κοφίνους πλήρεις

οἱ δὲ ἐσθίοντες ἦσαν ἄνδρες ὡσεὶ πεντακισχίλιοι χωρὶς γυναικῶν καὶ παιδίων

Καὶ εὐθέως ἠνάγκασεν τοὺς μαθητὰς ἐμβῆναι εἰς τὸ πλοῖον καὶ προάγειν αὐτὸν πέραν ἕως οὗ ἀπολύσῃ ὄχλους

καὶ παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν ἵνα μόνον ἅψωνται τοῦ κρασπέδου ἱματίου αὐτοῦ ὅσοι ἥψαντο διεσώθησαν
